MAC lipstick collection

Hello!

So after a few years of my make- up and beauty collection getting every little bit out of control, I thought I'd put a good use to it- other than slapping it all over my face. I've decided to create this blog and share my opinions and thoughts on different products and maybe even some little tips along  the way. I thought id start off with one of my most prized possessions- my MAC lipsticks!

This isn't the biggest collection in the world, but I absolutely LOVE it! At £14 each, they are quite pricey, ok more than quite pricey, but I defiantly think they are worth the hype! I love the packaging, it's plain and simple, but still looks expensive and sophisticated. I will say that these lipsticks have the iconic vanilla scent to them, personally I like it, it's not too over powering, but maybe go give them a sniff to see what you think.
My collection is a mix of different finishes including - lustre, Cremesheen and Satin. My favourite finish is the cremesheen, I find this finish looks and feels the most smoothest an  moisturizing on the lips. The satin finish I find is slightly drier than the cremesheen, however they both have  in common their great coverage and opaqueness. The lustre finish is slightly different, it's extremely moisturizing, however it has more of a sheer cover, making it more like a gloss. This finish is great for creating a wash of colour to your lips, for a natural look.
Below are some swatches:

I really should have but these swatches in order of finish, bit never mind!
Politely pink, is a cool toned pale pink with I think an almost frosting to it, however as its a lustre and therefore glossy, it doesn't wash you out an  looks really natural :)
Patisserie was my first MAC lipstick. I have a love hate relationship with this lipstick. I love it because it's a ' your lips but better' colour and I can slap it on without thinking and know It  will look good, it's also a lustre so it leaves a nice sheen. The hate I have with it is kind of pathetic, but it's because it made me fall in love with MAC and makes me spend a small fortune every time I'm there! argh!
Brave is my newest purchase, it's my first satin finish and so far so good! I find it a little drier than I usually use, however it's a lovely colour without being too bright and would compliment many make- up looks!
Shy Girl is cremesheen and is  the perfect peachy nude. I don't find myself grabbing for this as much as some of my others,  I think this is because it's more of a summery colour that looks fab with a tan!
Lustering (if you couldn't guess by the name) is a lustre. I wear this on a day where my eye make- up is quite minimal and natural as although this is a lustre and is sheerer than the other finishes, it's still really bright! It really is the perfect ' pick me up' lipstick on days you're feeling quite blurrggh.
Creme in your coffee is a cremesheen. I love the name of the name of this lipstick, the finish is in my favourite type, the colour is just my thing, a rich purply red -ARGH I just love it <3 definitely my favourite!
Last but not least is freckletone, again another lustre. I got sucked into buying this after being told it was Kim Kardashians favourite nude lipstick, without it looking like you've just rubbed concealer into your lips. How true this is I don't know, but I bought it anyway and I'm glad I did. it's my most reached for nude as  it's moisturizing an  isn't too pale that I look like death warmed up. This lipstick shade really does has a warmth to it to make it wearable.

So there we go, your first insight into my naughty spending habits! Definitely go check them out, you wont be disappointed! :)
